Mom's doctor came in for a visit this evening. He said everything is going well and she should be able to go home on Wednesday. He said generally a recipient is in the hospital for 4-5 days. Amazing how the body heals so quickly, isn't it?
Krista would like me to say thank you to everybody for all of the prayers and good thoughts you've been sending their way. We haven't replied to all who have sent them, so we want to make sure you know how much we appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Bob & mom mentioned that we should say a BIG HUGE THANK YOU to the wonderful, fantastic, and terrific transplant team here at St. Luke's. We are SO impressed with their care. They are all amazing! Their bubbly personalities and great senses of humor make a true difference in our day and mom & Krista's healing. We cannot say thank you enough! Mom also would like to add that she has received expert physical care, emotional support, encouragement and spiritual guidance from everybody involved in her care. This includes the people who come in to clean her room, the nurses, the physical therapists, the mid-level providers, and doctors.
Krista would like me to also mention that she thinks her kids did a wonderful job of making her feel comfortable in her home away from home. They sent stuffed animals and blankets for her to sleep with and notes with Bible verses to read. They've been sweet and loving. Every time they talk to her they tell her they love her to the moon and back.
Geez...they're starting to go crazy on me here with the thank yous. Mom now wants me to thank her kids and Bob for their support. I really need to teach the two of them how to blog as it is awkward to thank yourself. Since that is unlikely, I'll say thank you to my siblings and Bob from mom.
And, as they say during the Oscars, thanks to anybody we may have forgotten!
