Bob and I just went in to see mom. She is not looking good, although they said she did well. She is in lots of pain. Lots. They gave her pain medication and are in the process of hooking her up to the patient controlled pain medication unit.
I don't think we expected to see her in so much pain since we were told that Krista would be in more pain than Mom would be in. That does not seem to be the case in our situation.
Tom, Rita, Meg, and Rach just went in to see her.
Tom W. just checked on Krista and she seems good. The hard part about having the donor and recipient come from the same family is the fact that their recovery rooms are so far apart. 11th floor and 3rd floor. That's a lot of space to cover when you want to be with both of them.

You all are so wonderful being there for both Krista and your mom! What a rough day for everyone! We'll pray for your mom's pain and hope she begins feeling a bit better soon. Much love!
We hope the pain gets less, and recovery smooth, the first night will be a long one, hang in there! We appreciate the blog, somehow it makes us feel connected from way up here in the U.P. We'll continue good thoughts and prayers!
